Silicon Foam
Product Code: FV-Silicons
Silicone foam is a high-performance, lightweight, and resilient foam made from silicone elastomers, designed to provide exceptional cushioning, thermal insulation, vibration damping, and fire-resistant properties. Unlike conventional foams, silicone foam maintains its elasticity and structural integrity across a wide temperature range (-60°C to +230°C) while resisting UV, ozone, chemicals, and moisture.
It is manufactured using either heat-cured (HTV) or room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV) processes, in which silicone is combined with blowing and curing agents to create an open- or closed-cell structure. Additives such as fillers can be incorporated to enhance mechanical strength, color, or flame retardancy.
Description
Silicone foam finds wide application across industrial, transportation, and medical sectors. It is commonly used for aircraft and railway seating, door seals, window gaskets, automotive weatherstripping, HVAC insulation, vibration-damping pads, orthopedic supports, and flame-resistant panels. Its open- or closed-cell structure provides excellent comfort, support, and durability even under repeated compression. Available in low (10–25 kg/m³), medium (25–60 kg/m³), and high-density (60–120 kg/m³) variants, silicone foam can be supplied in sheets, rolls, or molded profiles to meet diverse application requirements. High-density silicone foam, in particular, is preferred for seating and cushioning in transportation, offering long-lasting passenger comfort while eliminating the need for additional fire-blocking materials.
Note: We offer a wide range of Silicon foams as per customer specifications and end application requirements. We request you to please drop your inquiries at info@foamvilla.com enabling us to serve you promptly.
